SEIU and the Gullibility of Americans. Gas Prices Then. Gas Prices Now.

Today I filled up the ol’ Jeep Grand Cherokee at the local Valero station.  $3.35 per gallon with my discount. The Jeep wasn’t quite empty and it cost me $55.00 to fill it up.  Remember the 2008 presidential campaign? Regular unleaded gasoline cost approximately $1.79/gallon.  Gas prices have doubled under BHO’s Administration.  If that had occurred under George W. Bush the media would be screaming bloody murder about him being in the pocket of “big oil.”  Of course, that’s no more true than trying to claim that gas prices have doubled under BHO because he’s in the pocket of “big oil.”

But in 2008 the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) would have you believe just that.  In fact they argued that Obama “cared about us” and wouldn’t be in the pockets of big oil, that he would stand up to the oil companies:

BHO kept his promise.  He stood up to big oil, all right.  He stood up and blocked them from drilling in the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico, he allowed Brazil to  drill where Americans couldn’t, and he promised Brazil Americans would become one of Brazil’s “best customers.”

This Administration’s policies are hurting Americans – oil and gas production is down, gasoline prices are up, the deficit is soaring and the value of the dollar is declining.  But the useful idiots that believed – and still believe – that Barack Obama and his policies are good for the nation are what I fear.  Their gullibility and ignorance of Constitutional principles will destroy this nation quicker than an Obama spending spree.
