You may recall the New Black Panther Party…the guys with the night sticks ready to bash the heads of anyone trying to vote, the guys claiming that if you want freedom, you have to kill some crackers, the guys claiming that white people feed black babies to alligators. Now, imagine that George W. Bush had been photographed with members of the KKK at some rally – regardless of whether or not they were in their hooded sheets. The news media would have rightfully gone ballistic, asking immediate questions of why Bush was meeting with or being associated with such racial bigotry as exhibited by the KKK.
Biggovernment.com has released photographs today of Barack Obama not only attending a rally where the New Black Panthers were speaking, but appearing on the same podium with members of that organization. Andrew Breitbart writes:
New photographs obtained exclusively by BigGovernment.com reveal that Barack Obama appeared and marched with members of the New Black Panther Party as he campaigned for president in Selma, Alabama in March 2007.
The photographs, captured from a Flickr photo-sharing account before it was scrubbed, are the latest evidence of the mainstream media’s failure to examine Obama’s extremist ties and radical roots.
In addition, the new images raise questions about the possible motives of the Obama administration in its infamous decision to drop the prosecution of the Panthers for voter intimidation.
The images, presented below, also renew doubts about the transparency of the White House’s guest logs–in particular, whether Panther National Chief Malik Zulu Shabazz is the same “Malik Shabazz” listed among the Obama administration’s early visitors.
Here are the photographs from BigGovernment.com:
According to the Breitbart account of these photographs, they have disappeared from the Flickr account where they were stored. Breitbart was able to get them before they were scrubbed by the owner.
Two points with respect to this story. First and foremost, it is very relevant the President’s association with these racist thugs during the 2008 Presidential campaign. Why wasn’t this story published then or at least investigated by the mainstream media? More importantly, though is the double standard exhibited by their failure to do so – had George W. Bush been seen campaigning with or appearing on the same podium with a member of the KKK the media would have kept the story alive for weeks, if not months, and probably would have destroyed his campaign.
The press has lost its way with respect to its role in government – it no longer is the Fourth Estate, keeping politicians honest. That role has devolved to the bloggers, talk radio, websites and others. The mainstream media has become little more than a public relations component for those politicians of the progressive left. I caution you to steer yourselves away from the media and to instead seek objective, other outlets for information. Always question what is being said, look for demonstrable evidence and facts, and learn to develop your own opinions and points-of-view without allowing the mainstream media to do that for you.
Bush would never have survived such a blatant association with racism. Obama shouldn’t either.
